Easter - Personal Best Mangrove Snapper and Some Large Grouper

My personal best Mangrove Snapper, at 23". Boat record as well. None of us had seen a Mangrove that big. We were chumming near Pasco Reef #2 and the mangos were swimming in the chum slick. We floated circle hooks with no weight and a small shrimp back in the chum slick and landed multiple mangroves (though most far smaller than this), and some ~20-inch Spanish Mackerel.

We landed tons of juvenile Gag Grouper, and some small Red Grouper. Henri managed this nice 27" Gag...too bad the season is still closed. He also landed a 25" Gag.

This 28" Gag Grouper gave me a serious fight on my light rod. Sadly, another "woulda-been" keeper that had to go back due to the closed season. Not my personal best, but probably in the top 5 Gags that I've caught.

It was a gorgeous day. When we headed out, we noticed a large crowd gathered at Hudson Beach for an Easter Sunrise service. I think it is First Baptist Church of Hudson. It was cool to see all those folks out there celebrating the Resurrection. I took the pic and dropped it on their Facebook group. I was really tempted to yell "HE IS RISEN!" to see if they would respond, but thought it would be better not to be disruptive. (And yes, Mom...we went to church Saturday night for Easter service...we weren't ditching Easter to go fishing.)
